Less water in the washer

What's up with these modern washers that use less water? Won't this lead to friction inside the drum and door gasket, making the motor work harder espcially if the items inside the washer are huge items like blankets or duvets?

Is it just me but I also noticed that the door gasket's drain holes get clogged with soap bits and hair more easily because low water level doesn't really clean this area right? anyone here knows the purpose why they made washers that uses less water?

The door gasket drain holes can get blocked more easily because of the reduced water. A good wipe down and regular cleaning cycles can help with that

Absolutely, I've seen those changes as well. Nothing major on my end yet, just tuning into those small differences, just like you mentioned. I'll definitely keep an eye on the gasket cleanings.

This is true , it also means soap and hair can build up in the door gasket since less water rinses it out. Its a trade-off... better efficiency but a bit more maintenance.
