Bosch's circular side panel design

Bosch claims the 'circular side panel design' on their washing machines helps reduce noise, but Ive never owned one yet and im jsut wondering if it actually works. Can that design really make a difference compared to brands like Hotpoint or Indesit with more basic side panels, or is it just a marketing act?

The stamped circles, which Bosch calls AntiVibration panels, increase the rigidity of the side wall to keep it from resonating like a drum during the spin cycle. Which Bosch series are you looking at since the sound insulation level varies between the 300, 500, and 800 models?

Bosch's circular side panel noise claims are mostly marketing fluff. Sure, some design tweaks help, but at the end of the day, better insulation and build quality matter way more. Brands like Hotpoint or Indesit can be just as quiet if built solidly and panel shape isn't a game changer

The higher series like the 500 and 800 add more internal sound insulation on top of the side panel design. This extra material absorbs more of the general motor and water noise not just heavy spin vibration. The important factor is where the machine will be located in your home. A washer in a main floor laundry room next to a living area would justify an 800 series more than 1 tucked away in a basement.
